The UAE’s 53rd National Day, officially renamed Eid Al Etihad (Celebration of the Union), is set to be celebrated with grandeur. As festivities sweep across the nation, the Ministry of Interior has announced updated traffic regulations and fine discounts to ensure a safe and harmonious celebration for all.

Here’s what you need to know about the new guidelines and discounts:

To maintain safety and avoid disruptions, the Ministry of Interior has introduced specific traffic regulations for the National Day celebrations.

  • License Plate Visibility: Both front and rear license plates must remain unobstructed at all times.
  • Approved Decorations Only: Stickers, logos, or signs must be officially approved for Eid Al Etihad use.
  • No Window Coverings: Avoid decorating front, side, or rear windows as this could obstruct visibility.
  • Original Vehicle Colors: Changing the vehicle’s original color or exceeding legal tint limits is prohibited.
  • UAE Flags Only: Display only the UAE flag; flags of other nations are not permitted during the celebrations.

  • Passenger Limits: Stick to the maximum allowed number of passengers.
  • Stay Seated: Passengers must remain seated inside the vehicle, avoiding sunroofs or windows.

Drivers with outstanding fines in Umm Al Quwain and Ajman can now take advantage of 50% discounts on fines as part of the Eid Al Etihad celebrations.

  • Covers violations committed before December 01, excluding serious offenses like reckless driving or endangering lives.
  • Discount Period: November 05, 2024, to December 15, 2024.
  • Similar conditions apply, excluding major violations.

Vehicle accessory shops and decoration outlets must also comply with the Ministry’s guidelines. Selling or affixing unapproved stickers, flags, or decorations on vehicles is prohibited.
