Meet the All-New Mercedes GLB: 7-Seat Electric SUV
Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed the all-new 2026 Mercedes GLB, and the formula that made the original such a hit remains intact. Seven seats. Boxy SUV styling. Premium feel. Now with electric power leading the charge.
For families and drivers in the UAE who want space without jumping into a full-size SUV, the new GLB could become one of the most practical luxury EVs on the road.
Same Smart Idea, Smarter Platform
The original GLB succeeded because it did something rare. It delivered seven seats in a compact premium SUV without awkward design. Mercedes knew better than to fix what was not broken.
The second-generation GLB keeps its upright and practical stance but moves to the brand-new MMA electric-first platform. This single model now replaces both the old petrol GLB and the EQB. There is no separate electric badge anymore. This is simply the Mercedes GLB with EQ Technology.
The new body is slightly longer and wider, with a stretched wheelbase. That extra space directly benefits the third row.
Electric First, Petrol Still Coming
At launch, the new GLB arrives as a fully electric SUV. Two versions will be available.
- GLB 250+
Rear-wheel drive
268 bhp
WLTP range up to 392 miles - GLB 350 4Matic
Dual-motor all-wheel drive
349 bhp
WLTP range up to 381 miles
Both models use an 85 kWh battery and advanced electric motors designed for efficiency. The real headline is charging speed. Thanks to 800-volt architecture, the GLB can add up to 161 miles of range in just 10 minutes with a fast charger.
For UAE drivers, this makes long road trips and daily use far easier.
Mercedes has also confirmed a mild-hybrid petrol GLB will arrive later. It will likely use a 1.5-litre turbo engine and look almost identical to the EV version.

A High-Tech Cabin Built for Daily Life
The interior marks the biggest upgrade. The dashboard features three large screens:
- 10.3-inch digital driver display
- 14-inch central infotainment screen
- 14-inch passenger display
Everything runs on the new MB.OS system, which replaces the older MBUX setup. It is faster, cleaner, and designed around voice and touch use.
Yes, it still offers seven seats. Mercedes says the third row can now fit passengers up to 1.7 metres tall, which makes it practical for school runs and short family trips.

Still One of the Most Practical Luxury SUVs
Practical features remain a core strength.
- A front trunk adds 127 litres of storage for charging cables
- Flush door handles improve aerodynamics
- Boxy proportions make entry and seating easier
Most importantly, no BMW or Audi currently offers a seven-seat electric SUV in this class.

Why the New GLB Matters in the UAE
The UAE market continues to embrace electric vehicles, especially luxury EVs that balance performance and practicality. The new Mercedes GLB fits perfectly into that space.
It delivers electric range, fast charging, family seating, and premium design in one package. For drivers who want versatility without moving into oversized SUVs, this GLB could become a top choice.
Drive UAE Take
The all-new Mercedes GLB proves that smart design still matters. It does not chase trends. It focuses on real use. Seven seats. Strong range. Fast charging. Clean design.
Once it reaches UAE roads, it is likely to attract families, professionals, and luxury EV buyers alike.
